Premier Division Ireland

The League of Ireland Premier Division, also known as the SSE Airtricity League Premier Divison) is the highest-ranking football league system in both the Republic of Ireland (and League of Ireland). After the League of Irish Football was reorganized, the new league was created in 1985. Teams from SSE Airtricity, SSE Pronto are all invited to compete in the competition. The Premier League in Ireland is a professional soccer league. There are twenty clubs currently Register in the Premier Division. Each club must play at least three games in the league. The winner of the play-offs will play the team who finished last. The winner of the final round will be announced. Promotion play-offs will be promoted into the Premier League for next season. The following season, the Premier League will be promoted to the promotion play-offs. Two new teams, Drogheda United (2019 season) and Longford Town (2019 season), will be joining the division. The partnership will also include the Irish Daily Star.
